YouTube is the best free source for entertainment of all kinds. Most people know about the vast amount of music videos. But do you know about all the other options there? If you can’t or simply don’t want to sign up for the many different services to watch movies or other things then YouTube is the best place to go. Sure, you won’t find the latest movies. For those, you will have to go to Netflix, Amazon Prime, or the new Disney+ service. However, you will have to pay there. So if you don’t mind that the movies, shows, or documentaries are a little older then look at YouTube.

What can you get?

The short answer is Everything! There are the usual music videos of course, but then you also get full movies, episodes of TV Series, travel shows, documentaries, DIY Instructions for many things (including how to make face masks), sports, workout videos (very important, when you can’t leave your apartment or house because of the coronavirus lockdown), and much more. Let’s have a look at some of the options:

Music

This is, as mentioned before, the part of YouTube everyone already knows, so we do not need to explain much here. Just go to YouTube and search for your favorite kind of music or your favorite artist or band. Here are two of my favorites:

Movies

This is a little more complicated. As said before, you won’t find recent movies and a lot of the older ones are coming with low quality. However, there are some good movies in decent quality available. It just takes a little bit of searching and trying. Here is a link to start searching for full movies. Here is one example:

Documentaries

This is a category for which you can find a lot. Just browse the documentaries and choose what you like.

Travel Programs

I love travel programs and there are lots of them on YouTube. I especially like the travel program with Rick Steves:

Circus

I needed to put that here because I think it is great. Have you heard of the Cirque du Soleil? In this difficult time of the coronavirus COVID-19, they decided to put some of their shows on YouTube for free. From my point of view this is a must-see:

And much More

Besides all of the above, there is of course much more. You might also want to try the following:

One more thing. If you like classical music then there is, of course, a lot on YouTube, but there is also the Digital Concert Hall. Have a look. You might like it.
