All-In-One Computers integrate a computer’s main components (mainboard, hard drive, ports, CD/DVD/Blueray device, power supply, and monitor) into one unit, except the keyboard and the mouse. This frees up space on your desk, which you could then use for other important things (e.g., a printer). Another important point is that this kind of computer usually has a larger display, so they are better for your eyes, and you can use the space on the screen to display more apps side by side.

Advantages of All-In-One Computers

As mentioned above, All-In-One Computers combine all main parts into one unit. This, of course, does not include the keyboard and the mouse. Having everything built into one unit means your desk stays clean. And if you want to move your computer, you only move a few things. This also means you will have to deal with just a few cables. Since most All-In-One Computers come with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse, the number of cables is reduced to just two. One for the power supply and one for the network connection. Should you have a wireless network in your office, you can even eliminate the network cable. However, if you are like me and don’t like to use batteries for environmental reasons, you might want to replace the wireless keyboard and mouse with the good old-fashioned ones with USB connections.

Disadvantages

The main disadvantage of All-In-One Computers is directly related to the advantage of having all parts integrated. Sounds strange? Well, it might, but think about the weight of all parts combined. And then consider those big monitors are heavy, even if its LCD/LED monitors. So yes, All-In-One Computers are usually very heavy. And therefore, they are not easy to move around. So if you are looking for something portable, you should look for a Laptop or Notebook instead.

Another disadvantage of integrating everything is that replacing hardware (e.g., the hard drive) is more challenging. But if you choose a good All-In-One Computer, you should not really need to replace anything. For more information about this kind of computer, read this article.
